On Wednesday 1st March, Year 3 children took part in a ScootSmart Training session. They started the morning discussing road safety, including how to check if your scooter is safe to ride, and who/what to be aware of on the pavements.
They then went out onto the playground and took part in lots of different skills including, controlled and emergency braking, what to do if you would like to pass a pedestrian, what to look for when scooting past driveways, and how to cross the road safely with their scooter.
At the end of the training all the children received a goodie bag which included a certificate, an activity booklet to complete at home, a ScootSmart badge and a road safety pen and ruler.
Well done to all the children who took part.
