Speed Stacking Competition

On Friday 16th January AJS took two teams, of four pupils, to a Speed Stacking Competition at the Ross Peers Centre in Soham. The children did really well with Yr 5 coming 4th and Yr 6 coming 3rd out of 20 teams. Here you can see some Yr 3 children practising their skills.

The Competition involved the children stacking the cups in a 3-3-3 and 3-6-3 formation, it also involved them stacking in pairs and a team relay. Twenty teams from across the Witchford Sports Partnership took part. After a short warm up session the children stepped up to the table and took it in turns to be timed performing the different stack formations. Everyone had 3 attempts and their best score counted towards the team score. Both AJS teams team’s worked well under the pressure and recorded some very quick times. At the end of the competition the results were announced. AJS Year 6 Team came 3rd Overall with a score of 77 points and AJS Year 5 Team came 4th Overall with a core of 75 points. Special mention goes to Jamelah  G who recorded the 3rd fastest time out of the 80 children who took part in both the 3-3-3 (3.80 seconds) and 3-6-3 (5.30 seconds) stacking formation.

Well Done to the students below who took part.
