Fenland Youth Games

On Friday 22nd May a selection of children from Years 4, 5 and 6 took part in the Fenland Youth Games.

As a school we were asked to represent the country of China, we made flags to wave at the opening ceremony were we paraded into the event to the Chinese National Anthem. At the opening ceremony we were welcomed to the event by the Young Ambassadors from Sir Harry Smith Community College, who read out the Spirit of the Games. The ceremony was then officially opened by Stephen Barclay MP. The children then made their way to the events quadkids athletics, quicksticks hockey and tennis. All the children put maximum effort into all the events. The hockey players got into the semi-finals but lost on goal difference to All Saints Primary School. There were some outstanding athletic performances from Nikita, Mackenzie L, Lilia R, Billy M, Lila C, Trinity T. All children showed excellent teamwork and sportsmanship.
