Collection Museum Lincoln - Year 4

Fiji class had an amazing time at The Collection museum in Lincoln learning all about the Romans.  They had a guided tour around the museum, then examined Roman artefacts and used their existing knowledge to try and work out what the artefacts were.  After this everyone became archaeologists and took part in a dig to find more artefacts.  They had to leave markers where the items were found and fill in their information sheet.  Later, they measured, described and drew their artefacts in more detail and discovered what they were actually used for.  Finally, the group were put through their paces as members of the Roman army.  They got to try on full size helmets and body armour before practising their marching, sword techniques and 'tortoise' shield formation.   A thoroughly enjoyable experience to consolidate their learning about the Romans.
