Wednesday's Post

What a wonderful Wednesday it was.

After a scrumptious breakfast of cooked foods, cereals and croissants we had a busy day ahead of us. We split off into two groups and visited Jorvik, The Dig and Barley Hall. At Jorvik, we got to see Viking artefacts and learn about Viking York. We went on a special ride through a Viking village and it STANK! Barley Hall saw us using our acting skills to reenact social class roles in the 15th century - Charlie didn't think much to being a pot boy! Then at the dig we learnt about archaeology and practised being archaeologists ourselves.

Once we had eaten lunch, we all met up again to have an ice cream and venture on to the railway museum. We saw so many trains from different time periods and even got to go inside some of them.

This evening, we headed down to a local park and had some fun downtime with our friends. It was great being able to choose to play games or sit and relax as some of us had really aching feet from all the walking. We finished off with a Millie's cookie before heading to bed for a well earnt relax and sleep!

Tomorrow it is Assieh's birthday: we are all excited. Her parents are treating us all to a dessert at a dessert parlour so it will be an extra special Thursday for everybody. We've also got the dungeons, Minster and ghost walk to look forward to - busy, busy!
